FDF gathering on the national Camp

About 12000 children and leaders participated on the national camp in July. Every fifth year FDF calls members for a national camp on their own location. The theme this year was “Innovation”, and before and during the camp the participants tried to implement this theme when they constructed their local campsite, building sun-panels for hot showers, created activities for charging their mobile-phones etc.

About 500 international guests took part in the camp, and even the Danish queen came for the opening ceremony. FDF has a tradition for running projects in cooperation with other countries and the national camp is a good opportunity to inform about the project and to collect money for the projects. The project running now is called: Everybody has the right to food, and the money will go to Zambia.
Singapore

Zambia

Regional meeting in Zambia
A regional meeting for Central and Southern Africa took place in July at Kaniki in Zambia. Kaniki is a training Centre for young leaders and owned by BB Zambia. It was discussed how the region can assist the members in the region to improve the daily BB work. There will be called for a new meeting later this year in Malawi. The Centre has many facilities so even a training course with 100 leaders could be hold at same time as the regional meeting.
BB Zambia has recently got a new board and a new national secretary. Here is the chairman and the national Secretary in the BB office in Zambia.

Congo

Close to the big town Lubumbashi is a project for street children located. Young BB officers often go there to help with the construction work. They are always coming in groups, and both before the work and after they have a lot of fun, playing games. The rate of unemployment in Congo is high, but working at the project is meaningful and at same time generate some money for the officers
