New Zealand

2nd Southland Tramp - The Company Section and Junior Leaders went on a tramp near Manapouri last weekend when yet another 'white dump' (snow)was forecast. Saturday was a great tramp. They toasted marshmallows on the bonfire at the lake edge under a clear skies and full moon. Next morning it was overcast. As they ate breakfast the first snowflakes fell so the tent was packed up in the snow. The group of eight enjoyed the experience of tramping in the snow and the drive back to Invercargill was a bit of a touch and go but they made it.
