With the aim of enhancing the Biblical lore of the children of the Junior Ministry, Bible Quiz competition was organized among the Junior Ministry’s circles, in three different levels – Circle, Regional and Central. 12 circle, who won in the regional level competitions were participated in the final round held on 30th October 2011. Mr. Andreas Kyk who is at present in our midst as volunteer from FDF/Danmission Denmark  was a chief guest and distributed attractive prizes and certificates to the winners.  Naturally, it gives a great inspiration and encouragement among Juniors to read the Bible more enthusiastically.

European Fellowship

In October European Fellowship created a week long training course at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France for young people who wanted to create a project in their youth organisation. 38 young people came from 13 countries to develop 17 projects.

The projects were all very different, ranging from a Girls' Brigade worldwide prayer wave and getting more young people involved in decision making at The Boys'

Brigade in Northern Ireland to attracting English speaking young people to FDF groups in Denmark and engaging young people from different cultures in Finnish parishes. Next Step is one of the regular events European Fellowship create to bring young people together and strengthen the connection and network of our organisations.

More details about the event are at www.europeanfellowship.org

700 young FDF took over Aarhus, Denmark

image006On the 19th of October 700 teenage FDFers at the age of 15-19 years joined forces in the city of Aarhus. This happened in spite of the fact that the camps, from which the 700 teenagers came, were located on more classic campsites far away from the city.

However, the object of the day was to show the people of Aarhus that FDF is more than just tents, campfires and twist bread – and for the participant to have a lot of fun in the meantime as well.

Throughout the day the teenagers all participated in a large organised race in the streets of the city. They found many obstacles on their way amongst other things a rescue situation on a boat in the harbour and live size game of Nokia’s “snake”.

The final climax of the day was an evening rock service at the Cathedral of Aarhus. Here 400 people from the city joined the 700 young FDFers. Together they enjoyed a different kind of service with coloured lights and bass rhythms.
