Special Activities - Grant Support

Global Fellowship recognises the needs and difficulties faced by many of its members, both in setting up and maintaining ongoing work for young people.

Resources in many areas of the world, including those from Church and Government agencies, can be severely restricted due to factors such as poverty, famine, debt and civil unrest. This often leaves the smaller organisations, like many of our members, struggling for survival as they try to reach out to children and young people through voluntary programmes that do not fall into the usual categories of 'development' or ‘aid assistance’.

It is hard to separate the work of our member organisations into core or development funding for without the means to provide for staff and essential administration at national level within the countries there would be no mechanism for a development programme to operate.

Global Fellowship has identified this need and provides a small Grant Programme on a three year cycle which provides support to those most in need to establish work with young people, maintain it and develop a programme for local growth. It is recognised that some members will require to be nurtured through several three year cycles, not through their lack of ability or mismanagement but simply due to the unstable economic and political situations in which they live.

Global Fellowship remains committed to assisting those in the programme to achieve their goal of self-sufficiency, while respecting the autonomy of each and every member organisation.

Where does the money come from?

Global Fellowship does not receive any form of Government funding but relies on donations and Grants from Churches, Trusts, member organisations and individuals who are keen to support our work.

ALL donations received for the support of our member countries are processed through the Global Fellowship Grant Account. The Grant Programme is only one part of this. Donations also provide support for the production of publications and educational material for members; support for training programmes at local level and assistance for new areas of development.

Where does the money go?

In general terms, money goes to support employment of staff; administration; training programmes; development of existing work and outreach and extension to other areas. The members who are currently involved in the Grant Programme are:
